Wildstar yawned and stretched as he stepped out of his den into the sunlight. He felt much better after a few days of rest, and already his shoulder wound was a mere pale scar. Wildstar looked around for Starfur. He padded over to her. "Starfur, may I please leave camp?" he asked, with a pleading tone. "I feel fine, and I don't want Mudpaw to get behind on her training."

Starfur tilted her head, glancing out of her den at her leader. She padded out, looking a bit doubtful. “All right,” she mewed, raising a brow. “But take Mudpaw with you, all right?” She offered him an amused glance. “You do seem fine. But if you get tired, come right back.” She paused for a moment. “Have you seen Raintalon, by the way?”

Wildstar pricked his ears in alarm. "She's missing? I haven't seen her for awhile." Wildstar was silent for a moment, thinking. "Mudpaw and I will keep a look out for Raintalon. If she's not back by sundown, we're sending out search parties."

Mudpaw padded towards Starfur and her leader/mentor. “What’s going on?” she asked perceptively, already guessing what it could be. Starfur remembered her talk with the wily apprentice the night before, and smiled gently. “Seems like you and Wildstar have a ticket out of camp,” she purred, amused. “While your out, keep an eye out for Raintalon. I haven’t seen her lately.” Mudpaw nodded, dipping her head before turning into Wildstar. “Shall we go?”

Wildstar dipped his head to his apprentice. "After you." he mewed before turning to Starfur. "Don't worry, we will be back before you know it." Looking back to Mudpaw, Wildstar nodded at her. "Let's start by following Raintalon's scent."

Mudpaw nodded, offering a farewell nod to Starfur, as she and her mentor made their way out of camp. It was easy enough to follow the she-cat’s scent. It wasn’t very old, and there had been nothing to wash away the smell. Mudpaw stopped, pricking her ears forward and glancing off into the distance. “I think she’s...Crossed the NightClan border,” she mewed uncertainly to her leader.

Wildstar sniffed. "I think you're right." he mewed. There was no anger in his voice, just curiosity. "Why would she go there?" wondered the leader aloud. Wildstar padded off in the direction of Raintalon's scent trail.
Soon he found the dead rabbit and the signs of a struggle. "It looks like she chased this rabbit over the border and was attacked." mused Wildstar. He sniffed the ground and wrinkled his nose. "Darktail." he muttered crossly.

Mudpaw nodded slowly, her mysterious eyes showing concern for the she-cat. She looked over the border, watching silently as the wind blew through the trees. “I do not think she is dead. I think she was taken from this place...” She glanced at her leader. “What shall we do?”
