This is the Warrior name ceremony.
Leader: Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath (Meeting Thing) for a Clan meeting! I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. He/she has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him/her to you as a warrior in his/her turn. (_Apprentice Name_) do you promise to follow the warrior code and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
Apprentice: I do.
Leader: Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name. (_Apprentice Name_), from this day forth you will be known as (_New Warrior Name_). (_Clan Name_) welcomes you as a full warrior.
Usually after this, the Clan will call the Warrior's name. Then that night, the Warrior must sit silent vigil for the whole night.
This is the Apprentice naming ceremony.
Leader: I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this kit. He/she would like to become a warrior of (_Clan Name_), but must first become an apprentice. (_kit name_), from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as (_Apprenice Name_). (_Warrior to be Mentor_) will mentor you.
The clan usually congratulates the apprentice after this.
This is the name change ceremony.
Leader: Spirits of StarClan, you know every cat by name. I ask you now to take away the name from the cat you see before you, for it no longer stands for what he/she is. By my authority as Clan leader, and with the approval of our warrior ancestors, I give this cat a new name. From this moment she/he will be known as (_New Name_).
After this, the clan commences into cheering the Warrior's new name.
This is the Dying Apprentice ceremony. It asks Starclan if the apprentice may go to Starclan as a Warrior.
Leader: I ask my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. He/she has learned the warrior code and has given up his/her life in the service of his/her Clan. Let StarClan receive him/her as a warrior. He/she will be known as (_Warrior Name_).
This is the joining of the Elders ceremony.
Leader: (_Warrior_), You say that the time has come for you to join the elders. Are you sure this is what you want?
Warrior: I am.
Leader: Then you will rely on apprenitces and younger warriors to bring you fresh-kill, and you are no longer able to go on patrol.
This one is the Leader ceremony.
Ex-Leader: Welcome, (enter cat's name here). Are you ready to receive your nine lives?
Cat: Yes, I am ready.
Dead Cat #1: With this life I give you courage, use it well in defense of your Clan.
Dead Cat #2: With this life I give you justice, use it well as you judge the actions of others.
Dead Cat #3: With this life I give you loyalty to what you know to be right, use it well to guide your Clan in times of trouble.
Dead Cat #4: With this life I give you tireless energy, use it well to carry out the duties of a leader.
Dead Cat #5: With this life I give you protection, use it well to care for your Clan as a mother cares for her kits.
Dead Cat #6: With this life I give you mentoring, use it well to train the young cats of your Clan.
Dead Cat #7: With this life I give you compassion, use it well for the elders of your Clan, and the sick, and all those weaker than yourself.
Dead Cat #8: With this life I give you love, use it well, for all the cats in your care.
Ex-Leader: Welcome, (enter cat's name here), my warrior, my deputy ***. With this life I give you nobility and certainty and faith. Use it well as you lead your Clan in the ways of StarClan and the warrior code. I hail iyou by your new name, (enter cat's first name half here)star. Your old life is no more. You have now received the nine lives of a leader, and StarClan grants to you the guardianship of (enter Clan's name here). Defend it well; care for the young and old; honor your ancestors and the traditions of the warrior code; live each life with pride and dignity.
All: (enter cat's new name here)! (enter cat's new name here)!
Then Starclan usually commences into cheering of the new name.
